Marquette Rail DEM

Marquette Rail is a Class 3 Shortline operator who operates 126 miles of the former Chesapeake and Ohio Trackage between Grand Rapids and Ludington Michigan, including the Manistee Branch at Wahalla Michigan. The Railroad was founded in 2005 by Kevin Ruble who purchased the lines from CSXT. He also owned the famous Caboose Hobbies Store in Greely Colorado. The Railroad's main products are grain, salt, petroleum products, and other manufactured goods. Marquette Rail (MQT) was an Employee Owned Company and was fond among many West Michigan Railfans. However in Feburary of 2012 the Railroad would be sold off to the Rail America Corp who in turn was bought out by Genesse and Wyoming. Marquette continues to operate under the G&W banner to this day, providing High Quality Service to Northwestern Michgan. TransDEM Generated Map of the Full MQT System as appeared in 2005.
